Jodi Ames-Frankel, Ph.D.
Jodi Ames-Frankel, Ph.D. is a NYS licensed psychologist specializing in health psychology and the treatment of grief, trauma, depression and anxiety. In addition she has extensive experience working with couples and leading groups. She received her Ph.D. from Yeshiva University in 1989 and began her private practice in Mount Kisco, NY in 1993.
Jodi was a Volunteer Counselor to Recovery Workers at Ground Zero, St. Paul’s Chapel of Trinity Church, New York, NY from 1/02 to 5/02 and has been employed as a full-time clinician by the FDNY Counseling Service Unit at Fort Totten, Bayside, NY from 2002 until 2009. In this capacity, she has counseled hundreds of members of the NYC Fire Department who responded to the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center on 9/11 and their family members.
Jodi received a Certificate in Basic Critical Incident Stress Management from the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation in 6/02. In 2008, she completed the Basic Training in EMDR, an innovative form of psychotherapy for treating trauma. In addition she is Certified in Emotionally Focused Therapy, a highly effective form of couple therapy.
